Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon My rating: 5 of 5 stars This books was just plain amazing. The story line was so perfect and so different and unique. From the beginning where Renee's parents mysterious die in the woods to the twisted ending it will completely leave you hooked. An ended that I definitely did not see coming. The best part that I loved is that the author completely answered all the questions I had, she didn't leave anything out when the story started to unravel. You immediately fall in love with the characters with their great personalities. I can't express enough that this is a must read book! This is the Yvonne Woon's first book, and boy did she do a great job. I look forward reading more books from this author. Review: Fat Vampire by Adam Rex

This book wasn't bad...but it wasn't great as well. I feel the story line wasn't that strong. It wasn't hard to put it down. I was a tad bit disappointed, liking vampires myself, and after reading reading the back and with the cover I was sure that I would like this book.
I really didn't like any of the characters. You have Doug who is the awkward comic geek, his friend Jay who is equally awkward...hiding in the bathroom for 30mins at a party... A foreign exchange student Senjal who has the Google, which is an addiction to the internet (...really) I really don't like the villain.. and really didn't like the ending. And the whole Vampire Hunter show just seemed lame. Also the ending had like a few didn't endings which I didn't entirely like. All in all, I recommend reading other books you really want to read first, before this one.
 I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Review of Blood Engines

Blood Engines is an urban fantasy set in a world that is close to modern day but with complex magics. The main character Marla can be off putting at times, but shes also the guardian of Felport and has to have to the tough personality (though I thought that she wasn't that smart not fully helping the snake God not now making him her enemy...)
My favorite part is when Marla and B, a powerful seer, is trapped in the universe of possibilities. I find this fascinating that they were able to see the different outcomes in the world that could have happened.
All in all I give this a 4, at times I found it hard to put down, but also wish Marla was a little nicer and less selfish, because I honestly really liked the snake God.
